The XVI edition of the Madrid Tennis Open is just here. We want to say thank you to every single participant. We are eager to welcome you to our city and to our tournament. We have worked a lot to offer the best experience here in Madrid. We believe that tennis is very important, but we are also convinced that human relations are as crucial as competition in the GLTA tour.
We do hope you will our tournament, and that every day you stay with us will be unique and special.

Madrid Tennis Open 2018 wishes to express its gratitude to the Madrid City Hall for supporting our tournament, our sport and its values of Diversity, Freedom and Equal Rights for all.
Singles and doubles A, B and C will be played on the outdoor GreenSet courts. Open, D and all consolation matches from all categories will be played on covered clay courts.
Friday morning, from 8AM to 1230 PM (approx.) group A and half of group C will play their matches at
Federación Madrileña de Tenis (Madrid Tennis Federation) Calle San Cugat del Vallès S/N.
The rest of matches will all be played at Ciudad de la Raqueta, Calle Monasterio de El Paular, 2 (Montecarmelo), Madrid (28049) – (0034) 917 297 922.
In order to receive all the daily INFO regarding Matches and Draws updated, we will send WhatsApp Notifications to all Players with the Broadcast List option. Please add Matias´s phone number (+44 7534 193535) to your Contact List so you will receive the updates every day.
Players must report to the tournament desk and be ready to play at least 15 minutes BEFORE each match.
Friday and Saturday matches will start at 8 AM SHARP, which means that players must be at the desk at 7.45 and FULLY READY AND DRESSED to get into the court and play.
Match Format: super tiebreak in the 3rd (singles/doubles). Consolation: pro set, tie break at 8-8)
Hydrate and eat properly before, during and after matches. High protection sunscreen + white clothes are recommended.
B Tournament Schedule
Thursday:
4.00 – 6.00 PM. Training courts, 8 green set courts and 4 clay courts on a first-come-first-serve basis.
8.00-1130 PM Official reception at the Italian Embassy of Spain:
Friday:
7.10, 8.40 and 10.10 Shuttle Bus NH Alonso Martínez – Ciudad de la Raqueta – Federación Madrileña Tenis. A shuttle bus to come back from the FMT to Ciudad de la Raqueta will also be provided
8 AM-10.30. The first roung of matches must start the first point at 8AM and players ready for warming up at 7.45.
2 PM – 4.00 PM Pool Party Music + lunch (included in your fee).
3.50 PM Players check-in at the tournament desk.
4.00 PM Play resumes.
10.30 PM Official DINNER, at the Ciudad de la Raqueta’s terrace (Tennis Venue)
11.30 PM (aprox) FLAMENCO SHOW: flamenco group Al Alimón
Saturday:
7.15, 8.45 and 10.15 Shuttle Bus NH Alonso Martínez – Ciudad de la Raqueta.
8 AM – 10 PM Tennis.
2 PM – 4 PM Play will be suspended, free time. Our photographer will be taking portrait pictures of all players in one of the covered courts.
Midnight: official party at BAILA CARIÑO: Calle Isabel la Católica, 6 Closest Metro stations in order of proximity: Santo Domingo, L2; Plaza de España, L3 and 10; Callao, L3, Gran Vía, L1)
Sunday:
9 AM – 4.30 PM Tennis.
5 PM Trophy ceremony. With the collaboration of Domestico Shop
C Transport schedule
Friday
Route NH Alonso Martínez (official hotel) – Ciudad de la Raqueta – Federación. 7.10, 8.4 and 10.10.
Saturday
Route NH Alonso Martínez (official hotel) – Ciudad de la Raqueta 7.15, 8.45 and 10.15.
D How to get to the venue by public transport
By Metro: the tennis venue is around 6-7 minutes away from Paco de Lucía metro station (last stop of line 9. Once outside, just turn left and follow the road uphill and then turn left again)

Physiotherapist:
A professional physiotherapist will be available during the tournament at the price of 20 euros per service. Please ask in the tournament desk how to book an appointment.
Video and photo:
Daniel, our photographer, will be filming and shooting pictures that will be shared on our Facebook and YouTube channel. IF YOU DO NOT WANT to be pictured, please let us know.
Charity:
This year’s raffle will benefit “Helem” foundation. A Lebanese LGTB group providing social services and legal representation and advice for LGBTQ individuals arrested and detained by Lebanese police – including refugees, sex workers, and migrant workers. It also engages in advocacy with national and international stakeholders to remove discriminatory laws from the Lebanese penal code and increase awareness
Swimming pool:
Free swimming pool for all during the whole tournament.
